Mauritius Signs UK Deal to Attract 3,000+ Students, Universities
Mauritius and the United Kingdom have signed an agreement to encourage British universities to establish campuses in Mauritius. This move aims to expand higher education options for students on the island.
Currently, about 3,000 students from Mauritius are enrolled in UK institutions.
The new protocol was signed during an official visit to London, where Mauritius’s Minister of Higher Education, Kaviraj Sukon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency.
The partnership is designed to make it easier for British universities to set up operations in Mauritius by streamlining accreditation processes.
Minister Sukon also expressed hope that these universities will see Mauritius as a strategic hub to attract students from across Africa.
