Weather Update: High Seas Warning & Winds Up to 55 km/h

On this Tuesday 27th May, warning for high seas remains in effect in Mauritius until 4 p.m. An area of high pressure south of the Mascarene Islands is bringing moderate, cold trade winds to the region.
Expect mostly cloudy skies with occasional showers, especially in the east, south, and central plateau areas, according to the Mauritius Meteorological Services.
Daytime temperatures will be slightly below average, ranging from 20 to 22°C on the central plateau and 24 to 27°C along the coast.
Tonight, lows will be between 15 and 18°C in higher areas and 19 to 21°C along the coast. Winds will come from the east-southeast at around 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 55 km/h in exposed areas.
The sea is very rough beyond the reefs, with south swells of 4 to 6 meters. These waves could affect lagoons and may reach low-lying coastal areas in the west and south, especially during high tide.
It is strongly advised that fishermen, boaters, and the public avoid going to sea or beaches today. Conditions are expected to improve overnight.
