Price Control Mechanism on 8 Basic Food Items Coming Soon

A new price control system will soon be introduced for several basic food items. The measure was announced during the Council of Ministers meeting on Friday, May 23.

The products affected include margarine, butter, canned sausages, canned chicken (luncheon meat), canned tuna, canned shrimp, pasta, and fresh vegetables. Additionally, a maximum price will be set for salt.

The goal is to keep these essential foods affordable for consumers while allowing retailers to earn a reasonable profit.

To ensure the effective implementation of this measure, existing regulations will be revised accordingly.
