Strong 4-6 Meter Waves Warning for Mauritius and Rodrigues

Meteorological Station has issued a warning for rough seas around Mauritius and Rodrigues. This alert was announced on Friday, May 23, and is in effect from 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

The sea is expected to become increasingly rough, with waves reaching heights of 4 to 6 meters.

These large waves will also affect the lagoons of both islands and could reach low-lying coastal areas, especially on the west and south coasts during high tides.

Mariners, fishermen, and the public are strongly advised to avoid venturing into the sea or approaching beaches until the warning is lifted.
