Emirates and Air Mauritius Renew 22-Year Strong Partnership

Emirates and Air Mauritius have renewed their long-standing partnership, including a reciprocal code-sharing agreement, cooperation on loyalty programs, and freight handling services. The deal was signed in Mauritius, formalizing a collaboration first established in 2003 and renewed in 2013 with expanded route sharing.
This partnership allows passengers to benefit from smoother connections on certain routes, the convenience of booking a single ticket for entire journeys, and the ability to earn and redeem loyalty points across both airlines.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the ongoing benefits of the partnership, stating:
“Our long-term strategic partnership with Air Mauritius continues to offer advantages to our customers.”
Kishore Beegoo, Chairman of Air Mauritius, described the renewal as a significant milestone.
“Emirates is one of our main strategic partners, and this strengthened agreement deepens our ties. It helps us better serve our passengers, supports Mauritius’s tourism industry, and gives locals wider access to a global network,” he said.
Under the agreement, Air Mauritius can place its code on Emirates flights to Cairo, Colombo, Karachi, Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh. Conversely, Emirates will code-share on Air Mauritius flights between Mauritius and Antananarivo.
The partnership has contributed significantly to Mauritius’s economy, generating around $900 million annually.
Of this, $119 million comes directly from Emirates’ 14 weekly flights, $264 million from tourism revenues, and $530 million through tourism-related spending.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Emirates Airlines recently visited Mauritius. Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam met with Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President.
After the meeting, Adnan Kazim emphasized the importance of Mauritius to Emirates. “We are deeply committed to Mauritius and aim to strengthen our presence here.
Our discussions with the Prime Minister were productive, and we look forward to expanding our collaboration,” he said.
