When asked by RadioPlus about any possible complaints he might have, Social Integration Minister Ashok Subron responded simply, “I have no criticisms that’s why I am still here.”

When further questioned, Subron declined to comment on the controversy surrounding the appointment of members to the National Empowerment Foundation (NEF) board.

He made this statement during the 50th anniversary commemorative event of May 20, 1975, held in Grande-Rivière-Nord-Ouest on Tuesday.

The appointment process for the NEF board has sparked debate after social project management consultant Belall Maudarbux sent a letter to the Prime Minister on 19th May, raising concerns about “ambiguities” in the selection process.

Additionally, Subron emphasized the importance of remembering the student protests of 1975. “The spirit of 1975 is still alive,” he said, urging everyone to understand and reflect on this significant chapter of history.
