MRA’s Director General Bows Out After 2 Decades at the Helm

Sudhamo Lal has formally retired from his role as the head of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) after an illustrious twenty-year tenure.
Appointed in 2005, Lal has been the architect behind the sweeping modernisation of the nation’s fiscal administration, transforming the MRA into an efficient and formidable institution.
His service culminated in March 2024, when he was honoured with the prestigious title of Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (G.O.S.K.), a testament to his outstanding contributions to public administration and the enhancement of the tax collection system.
In a communiqué dated 14 May, the MRA’s Board of Directors expressed its deepest gratitude for Lal’s unwavering dedication and invaluable services over the past two decades.
