Mauritius Reiterates Support for 2-State Solution in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade of the Republic of Mauritius has issued a statement reaffirming the country’s core position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: a peaceful resolution based on a two-state solution.
Mauritius, consistently upholding international law, supports the creation of two sovereign states, Israel and Palestine, that can coexist securely and peacefully.
The country has repeatedly voiced its support for resolutions condemning Israeli settlement policies, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and defending the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination. These stances have been expressed in various international forums, including the United Nations, African platforms, and other multilateral settings.
This diplomatic position has been actively demonstrated through Mauritius’s recent engagement at UNESCO, the African Union, and the United Nations Human Rights Council. At these bodies, Mauritius has backed several initiatives aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace founded on the respect for human rights.
