Low-Key Encounter: Australian PM Albanese in Transit, Meets Ramgoolam

Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam hosted Anthony Norman Albanese, the Australian Prime Minister, at the SSR Airport lounge on November 20th in a low-key welcome.
Mr. Albanese was making a stopover in Mauritius on his return from Brazil and had a thirty-minute discussion with his Mauritian counterpart regarding maritime security in the Indian Ocean and the Indian Ocean Rim.
PM Ramgoolam was joined by the newly appointed CEO of the Economic Development Board, Mahen Kundasamy, who commenced his duties on Friday.
Anthony Albanese’s victory in Saturday’s legislative elections followed a campaign centered on purchasing power, the environment, and customs duties.
Within Indian Ocean Rim circles, it is said that Ramgoolam is likely the first leader to have welcomed him.
