30th April: School Cancelled Amid Severe Weather Warning

In the wake of a severe weather warning issued this morning by the Mauritius Meteorological Station, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources has announced a suspension of classes for Wednesday, 30th April.
This decision affects all public and private institutions, encompassing pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, as well as special educational needs (SEN) schools and technical and vocational training centres, including those under the auspices of the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD).
In a move that underscores the gravity of the situation, heads of institutions and non-teaching staff are required to report to their respective schools or centres to assess the conditions on the ground.
This precautionary measure reflects a commitment to the safety and well-being of students and staff alike, as the island braces for the anticipated deluge.
