Shakeel Mohamed: “No Increase in Hajj Visas This Year”

In an announcement that reverberated through many, Shakeel Mohamed, the Minister of Housing and Lands, declared during a press conference on the afternoon of Friday, 25th April, that there will be no increase in the number of visas allocated for the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
A mere 1,500 visas will be granted, a decision driven by the harsh realities of extreme temperatures and pressing security concerns.
The first flight of Saudi Airlines is scheduled to depart from Mauritius on 14th May, carrying 308 devoted pilgrims eager to embark on this sacred journey.
The final flight is set to take off on 31st May, as confirmed by Mohamed, leaving many to ponder the implications of this limited allocation amidst the fervent desire to fulfil their spiritual obligations.
