Rajiv Servansingh, the former Director-General of the State Trading Corporation (STC), finds himself under the scrutinising gaze of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) as he is currently being interrogated within their offices.

This summons followed a significant raid conducted at his residence, where electronic devices were seized by FCC investigators, raising serious questions about the integrity of his dealings.

It is worth recalling that on 9 April, Kareena Neisus, the managing director of Mercantile and Maritime Ltd, was also called in for questioning by the FCC in connection with this very case.

These recent developments are part of a broader investigation into the awarding of a staggering Rs 30 billion contract to the Mercantile & Maritime Group for fuel supply in 2023.

The implications of this inquiry are profound, as it delves into the murky waters of financial misconduct and potential corruption at the highest levels of government and commerce.
