APTIS Boosts Navitas: Julien Rey Appointed CEO

In a significant move that underscores its commitment to the financial services sector, APTIS has consolidated its stake in Navitas, a company renowned for its expertise in financial and corporate services, duly licensed by the Financial Services Commission. This strategic operation marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the group, following the agreement reached in 2023 between APTIS and Julien Hoareau, the founder of Navitas, who stepped down from the helm in February.
Since March, Julien Rey, a co-founder of Navitas and previously the Chief Operating Officer, has ascended to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
With a background in accountancy, Rey is aiming to ensure continuity while injecting a fresh dynamism into the company he has helped to establish since its inception in 2009, alongside Hoareau and Nathalie Gallet.
“Navitas has evolved into a genuine one-stop shop, offering a comprehensive range of services from company formation to legal secretarial work, as well as accounting and tax administration.
We currently employ 55 staff and generate an annual turnover of approximately Rs 100 million,” Rey elaborated.
Navitas is now integrated into the Services division of the APTIS group, alongside notable entities such as the Harley Street Fertility Centre.
The firm caters to a diverse clientele, ranging from local small businesses to large publicly listed corporations.
With a strong local foundation, Navitas is now poised to bolster its offshore operations, fully capitalising on Mauritius’s strategic positioning as an investment gateway to Africa.
“Mauritius possesses significant advantages for international investors: robust bilateral treaties, a stable political environment, and a financial centre that accounts for nearly 14% of the national GDP.
Numerous foreign enterprises set Mauritius as a launchpad for structuring their African operations. This is an opportunity that Navitas intends to seize,” asserted the new CEO.
He emphasised, however, that Mauritian businesses will remain at the forefront of the firm’s priorities:
“They have been instrumental to our success. We will continue to serve them with the utmost professionalism.”
For the APTIS group, this acquisition aligns with a clearly defined diversification strategy.
The group operates across four key sectors: Distribution (TNS Tobacco, TNS Consumer, L’Artigiano), Commerce (Resiglas, Racso), Services (Navitas, Harley Street Fertility Centre), and Assets (Bigarade sur Mer, Domino’s, APTIS Business Park).
“Navitas is a robust enterprise. We have complete confidence in its team and will provide the necessary resources to support its expansion, particularly in the development of its offshore activities,” declared Oscar Mamet, a representative of the APTIS group.
With this new chapter, Navitas is set to establish itself as an indispensable player in the corporate services landscape in Mauritius, while simultaneously broadening its regional footprint.
