Muthy Condemns Lutchmeenaraidoo’s Remarks on BAI Super Cash Back Gold ‘Victims’

Following a press conference held on Friday, 18th April, Salim Muthy has expressed his profound dismay at the comments made by Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoo regarding the so-called ‘victims’ of the Super Cash Back Gold scheme. Muthy, the spokesperson for those affected by this financial debacle, has called for a public apology from the former Minister of Finance, whose remarks have ignited outrage among the investors.
Muthy has also announced his intention to pursue legal action against Lutchmeenaraidoo, with a meeting scheduled with his legal team this coming Monday, 21st April.
During the press conference, the former Finance minister did not hold back in his criticism of those who had placed their trust in the Super Cash Back Gold plan, even going so far as to label them as “zougader” – a term close to ‘gambler’ but with a more derogatory connotation.
“People have bought into schemes like this… the bank offers 3%, and it promises 14%, one must be prepared to lose everything… It’s like a casino!” Lutchmeenaraidoo declared, highly dismissing the plight of the investors with a cavalier attitude that has left many feeling further victimised.
As the fallout from this scandal continues to unfold, the call for accountability grows louder, with Muthy leading the charge for justice on behalf of those who have suffered significant financial losses.
The coming days will undoubtedly reveal the extent of the repercussions for Lutchmeenaraidoo and the broader implications for the financial landscape in Mauritius.
