STC Raided: Rs30 Billion Fuel Contract Under Investigation

Investigators from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) descended upon the headquarters of the State Trading Corporation (STC), the government’s procurement arm, Monday – 14th April, conducting a thorough search.
The operation saw the removal of numerous documents, all aimed at uncovering the truth behind the awarding of a lucrative contract to Mercantile and Maritime Ltd for fuel supply.
Just last week, the company’s director, Kareena Neisius, was interrogated at the Réduit Triangle as part of this ongoing investigation.
Her residence had previously been raided, with documents seized in an effort to piece together the puzzle.

This time, the focus shifted to the STC’s offices in Ébène, where investigators meticulously gathered evidence until around 10 PM on Monday, 14 April.
The FCC is determined to shed light on the allocation of a staggering Rs 30billion contract awarded to MMG in 2023, amid growing suspicions of misconduct surrounding the deal.
The investigation continues, as the quest for accountability intensifies.
