Mauritius Telecom Welcomes New CEO Veemal Gungadin on 14th April

In a significant development for Mauritius Telecom, Veemal Gungadin has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a decision ratified by the company’s board of directors. Gungadin officially took office on Monday, 14th April.
With a vision to accelerate the digital transformation of Mauritius, Gungadin aims to position the nation as a regional technology hub.
His extensive career in telecommunications and digital transformation has equipped him with the expertise necessary for this ambitious undertaking.
Previously serving as CEO of Gevme, a technology events company based in Singapore, Gungadin has been at the forefront of deploying artificial intelligence solutions across Asia, Europe, and America.
Notable innovations under his leadership include Snapsight and Spark—an AI platform designed to leverage industry expertise to enhance efficiency, boost productivity, and reimagine the future of work.
Gungadin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computing from the National University of Singapore.
A distinguished alumnus of St. Esprit College, he achieved an impressive 8th place nationally in the science stream during the Higher School Certificate examinations in 1999.
