‘Sky To Be’ Sentenced: Convicted for 45 Litres of Stolen Methadone

Patrice Kevin Dina, better known as Sky To Be, has faced the consequences of a bold theft that occurred nearly nine years ago. On 29th August 2014, the well-known musician, along with four masked accomplices, carried out a meticulously planned assault on a pharmaceutical warehouse owned by the Ministry of Health in Plaine Lauzun.
During this break-in, the group overwhelmed a security guard, binding him to a door before absconding with an astounding 45 litres of methadone, a highly regulated and dangerous substance.
On 27th March 2025, Magistrate Prithviraj Balluck delivered a damning verdict, declaring Dina guilty of larceny involving multiple masked individuals.
Despite asserting his innocence and providing an alibi—claiming that he was performing in the capital at the time of the incident—Dina’s fate was ultimately determined by the testimony of one of his accomplices, who emerged as the mastermind behind the operation.
This individual had already received a five-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs 50,000, revealing intricate details of Dina’s involvement in the heist and dismantling his efforts to exonerate himself.
Moreover, a charge of driving without a license was dismissed due to a lack of evidence, providing a slight reprieve for the once-celebrated artist.
