Sewraz Ballah Declares Rivalland’s Allegations Baseless in MIC Rs300 M Controversy

Diya Sewraz Ballah submitted a formal complaint against Louis Rivalland, the former Independent Non-Executive Director of the Mauritius Investment Corporation (MIC), to the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on the afternoon of Monday, 7 April. This action comes in response to Rivalland’s statements following his hearing with the commission on 26 March, where he suggested that there had been possible alterations to the minutes of the board meeting.
Joined by her attorney, Me Ritesh Samputh, Sewraz firmly declared that Rivalland’s allegations are baseless and intended to mislead.
This alleged scheme purportedly harmed the interests of the MIC while benefiting Apavou Hotels Ltd.
In a parallel move on the same day, Me Ritesh Samputh filed a motion aimed at having the charges against his client dismissed in the Port-Louis court.
This motion is set to be heard on 21 May, intensifying the scrutiny of this matter.
