Tax Evasion Inquiry: Gooljaury Arrested Twice in 2 Months

In a turn of events, Rakesh Gooljaury – businessman has once again been taken into custody, this time by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Friday, 28th March.

This latest arrest is linked to a significant inquiry into allegations of money laundering and tax evasion.

Gooljaury, said to have been very close ex-PM Pravind Jugnauth, arrived at the FCC’s office in Réduit Triangle and was subjected to a tense interrogation that lasted over two hours under warning.

As the questioning concluded, the diligent investigators took the decisive step of formally arresting him.

Gooljaury is now poised to appear in Rose-Hill Court, where initial charges will be filed against him, further complicating his already tumultuous legal situation.

This incident marks Gooljaury’s second run-in with authorities in just two months, raising pressing concerns about the seriousness of the allegations and their potential impact on his business ventures.
