Charles Harel Re-elected MCCI President for 2nd Term

Charles Harel has been re-elected as President of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) for a second consecutive term. This significant event took place during the 176th Annual General Meeting held at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis on Thursday, 27th March.

Patrice Marie will also continue in his crucial role as Vice President, ensuring stability within the chamber’s leadership.

In his address, Harel stressed that growth is the fundamental pillar necessary to achieve the ambitious targets set out in the government’s programme for 2025 to 2029.

He highlighted the pressing need to cater to the essential requirements of the nation’s populace, all while facing daunting economic challenges.

“The current economic landscape is formidable,” Harel cautioned, referencing the significant adjustments underway in business cost structures and the inflationary pressures impacting various sectors of service.
