2 MTPA Officials Questioned at FCC Over Fund Misuse

Krishna Boodhun, the financial analyst and secretary of the board at the Mauritius Tourism Authority (MTPA), faced questioning this Wednesday, 26th March. He was interrogated alongside Zeenat Gangee, the MTPA’s tourism promotion officer, by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC).
Their interview lasted over two hours and is part of a broader investigation into alleged financial misconduct involving the former MTPA director, Arvind Bundhun.
Key to this inquiry are questionable transactions conducted with MTPA credit cards between 2018 and 2024.
Correspondence sent to the FCC suggested that these cards may have been used for personal expenses that were not authorised.
As the investigation progresses, Arvind Bundhun is anticipated to be summoned shortly, where he will need to clarify the approvals he granted for the use of these credit cards.
The fallout from these allegations is raising serious concerns about the management of public funds at the MTPA, highlighting the need for accountability in handling taxpayer money.
