Jessica Naga Takes the Helm as President of AMCHAM Mauritius

On Friday, 14th March, the American Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius (AMCHAM) convened for its sixth annual general assembly at Birger, Forest-Side. In an event filled with anticipation and excitement, members gathered to witness the election of a new executive committee, which was unanimously appointed to serve for a two-year term, extending until 2027.
Leading this newly formed committee is Jessica Naga, a representative from Mindex Group, who has been elected as president.
Joining her in this pivotal role is Wilson Li from KIP Center for Leadership, who will serve as vice-president.
The positions of secretary and treasurer have been filled by Vamen Poonoosamy from AXYS and Julia Hawkins from Hawkins Eberdal Ltd, respectively.
Tej Soodaye from Zethical Ltd has been named assistant secretary, while Muzzammir Mahamoodally from Afritex Ventures Limited will take on the responsibilities of assistant treasurer.
Rounding out the executive team are Ayeshah Fauzee from Coca-Cola Indian Ocean Ltd, Anil Lockee from Think Recruitment, and Sian Kiow Shi Shun from Applix Systems.
The assembly brought together participants from various economic sectors, encouraging fruitful trade dialogue between Mauritius and the United States.
In her first address as president, Jessica Naga passionately highlighted the crucial role of AMCHAM in enhancing bilateral trade relations.
She expressed her commitment to prioritise innovation, growth, and collaboration during her tenure, with a strong focus on fostering connections with other AMCHAMs across Africa.
With this new leadership at the forefront, the future of AMCHAM Mauritius appears promising, embodying a shared spirit of cooperation and ambition destined to open new business opportunities both regionally and beyond.
