Rs103 Million Hashish Seizure, 2 French Women Arrested

The authorities at Plaisance Airport have intercepted a massive shipment of hashish worth Rs 103 million. This major bust took place early Monday morning, 24th March, involving two French women, aged 19 and 21.
During a standard luggage check, officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), working in tandem with the Anti-Drug Smuggling Unit (Adsu), discovered 20.6 kilograms of hashish concealed within the passengers’ luggage.
The diligent efforts of these officials, led by Chief Inspector Doss and supervised by Assistant Superintendent Goinden, have initiated a swift investigation to identify the women’s local connections.
This is firmly placing the spotlight on the commitment of law enforcement agencies as they strive to combat the drug trade.
