Agalega Supply Mission: MV Peros Banhos Setting Sail on 29 March

The Mauritius Shipping Corporation Ltd has revealed that the MV Peros Banhos is scheduled to embark on a crucial supply mission to the island on 29th March to the remote island Agalega. This important operation is aimed at ensuring the delivery of essential goods to the island’s residents.
During the latest meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday 21st March, it was confirmed that all necessary precautions have been carefully planned to facilitate the safe docking of the vessel.
In an effort to ensure a smooth arrival, the Mauritius Ports Authority has taken proactive measures by arranging for a qualified tugboat captain to be aboard the MV Peros Banhos.
The captain will assist the local tug master in Agalega with the intricate manoeuvres required for the ship’s arrival and departure.
Moreover, the Outer Islands Development Corporation is in ongoing communication with Indian authorities to guarantee the presence of an experienced tugboat captain on the only tug currently stationed in Agalega.
To enhance safety during the docking process, additional fenders will be installed at the quay.
