Mauritius Condemns Israeli Strikes on Gaza After 400+ Innocents Killed

Mauritius has strongly condemned the recent air strikes carried out by Israel on Gaza and has reiterated its demand for an immediate and lasting ceasefire. In a statement released on the evening of Wednesday, 19th March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade expressed serious concern over the extensive bombardments that took place on Tuesday, 18th March 2025.
These assaults have resulted in the deaths of over 400 Palestinians, many of whom are innocent women and children.
Violence in Gaza
The nation expressed sorrow over the rekindling of hostilities, viewing it as a trigger for a relentless cycle of terrifying violence in Gaza.
The Mauritian government has called for an urgent ceasefire and for negotiations to be resumed swiftly, aiming for a peaceful and enduring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, without any preconditions.
Additionally, Mauritius reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their inalienable right to self-determination.
The nation calls once more for the creation of an independent Palestinian state, able to coexist peacefully alongside Israel, in line with the two-state solution and in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
