An investigation is underway after a whistleblower has levelled serious allegations of document tampering and conspiracy against three officers at the L’Escalier police station.

The inquiry was triggered by a whistleblower sergeant, who has provided detailed accounts of numerous occasions where specific officers are believed to have manipulated their recorded hours in the official attendance log.

Whistleblower’s Complaint

According to the whistleblower’s complaint, this alteration of working hours has become an informal routine for some officers, allowing them to claim double pay for work on holidays and Sundays.

The sergeant has cited specific instances to corroborate these claims.

For example, on 1 February, several officers were scheduled to work from 8 AM to 4 PM, as recorded in the attendance book. Yet, on that day, one officer allegedly left the station at 1 PM.

Similar incidents were reported on 26 February, a public holiday, when another officer reportedly did not fulfil her scheduled shift and appears to have fabricated her departure time.

Additionally, complaints have been lodged against a sergeant who, on 27 February, was meant to work from 8:45 AM to 4 PM but failed to attend.

Interestingly, his absence was later classified as authorised leave, according to the allegations.

Investigators are set to examine footage from the surveillance cameras at the L’Escalier police station to bring clarity to these concerning allegations.

The sergeant has repeatedly stressed the importance of these recordings, suggesting they could play a crucial role in uncovering the truth behind this developing situation.
