Two British nationals have been arrested at Plaisance Airport after authorities discovered a staggering Rs 57 million worth of cannabis concealed in their luggage. The incident occurred on Saturday, 8 March, when the pair arrived in Mauritius from Dubai.

During a routine baggage inspection, customs officials intercepted three suitcases belonging to the alleged drug traffickers.

A thorough check revealed an alarming haul: 85 tightly packed parcels containing a total of 47.6 kilos of cannabis.

The suspects, a 45-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, have since been taken into custody as the investigation unfolds.
