Constance Culinary Festival 2025: Celebrating Braided Banana Tart

From the 20th to the 29th of March 2025, the Constance Hotels & Resorts will once again play host to the renowned Constance Culinary Festival. This year, the spotlight will shine brightly on a hallmark of Mauritian cuisine: the exquisite braided banana tart.

Now in its 18th year, the festival proudly introduces the inaugural competition for the “Best Braided Banana Tart.”

This exciting new challenge promises to infuse the event with an authentic touch, further cementing its status as a gastronomic institution in the Indian Ocean.

A beloved classic of Mauritian cooking, the braided banana tart is distinguished by its use of perfectly ripe bananas, encased in a meticulously woven, crisp pastry.

Contestants will be judged on their ability to balance flavours and present their creations with finesse.

As has become tradition, the festival will also gather a stellar lineup of talented chefs, hoteliers, and renowned culinary personalities from around the globe.

Throughout the week, participants and spectators alike will indulge in a series of gourmet workshops, refined tastings, and nine exceptional dinners presented by Michelin-starred chefs.

Notable figures, including the celebrated French food critic and blogger Mercotte, will lend their expertise and flair to the proceedings.

This is not just an event; it is a must-attend occasion for lovers of fine dining and authentic flavours—a true celebration of the culinary arts.
