Building Bridges in Education: Saudi Commitment Sparks Exciting Prospects for Mauritius!

Underlining its dedication to educational development, the Saudi government is keen to formalise its cooperation with Mauritius by signing a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designed to bolster the educational sector. On Thursday, 6th March, Mahend Gungapersad, the Minister of Education, welcomed the Saudi Ambassador, Fayez Meshel Altemyat, to his office for a critical dialogue centred on potential avenues for collaboration.

The discussions placed a strong emphasis on the support of Mauritian pupils and students, particularly those with special educational needs.

“We wish to extend our assistance to students, especially those who require particular support,” affirmed the Saudi diplomat, as he reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthening ties with Mauritius in this vital area.

In response, Minister Gungapersad expressed his gratitude for this initiative. “I greatly appreciate this gesture.

I would like to thank His Excellency and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their invaluable support to the Mauritian educational sector,” he remarked.

Scholarships provided by Saudi Arabia

It is noteworthy that numerous Mauritian students are already benefitting from scholarships provided by Saudi Arabia as part of ongoing bilateral cooperation agreements.
