Tragic Domestic Accident: 18-month-old child Suffers Severe Burns

A toddler has been admitted to the burns unit after suffering serious injuries from a scalding accident at their home in Triolet. The distressing event unfolded on Sunday, 2nd March, around 6:45 PM.

The young boy’s mother was in the living room, tending to him as he played, moving between the kitchen and the lounge.

While playing, the little child accidentally knocked over a kettle full of hot water, and the hot liquid spilled all over him. His loud cries got his father’s attention, and he quickly ran to help, pouring cold water on him to soothe the burns.

The father quickly transported his son to Mediclinic in Triolet.

Due to the severity of the burns, medical professionals took the decision to transfer the child to the Victoria Hospital, where he was admitted to the burns unit.

As it stands, the child’s condition is stable, though he remains under close medical observation.
