Sherry Singh’s Triumph: 2 Last Charges Dropped, Rebuilding Journey Begins

Sherry Singh, the former Chief Executive Officer of Mauritius Telecom, has emerged from the Port-Louis Court a free man. On Wednesday, 5th March 2025, the last two provisional charges against him were dismissed, much to his evident relief. This pivotal decision followed advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, as conveyed by Senior State Counsel, Me Damodarsingh Bissessur.
The charges that have haunted the ex-CEO were grave indeed: “giving instruction to commit a misdemeanour” and “aiding and abetting in the commission of a misdemeanour.”
The first accusation related to the alleged destruction of electronic data on Singh’s work computer, while the latter emerged amidst a broader investigation into a suspected stone theft.
Upon leaving the courtroom, Singh spoke candidly about the emotional toll these accusations had taken on him.
With resilience in his voice, he expressed a determined desire to rebuild his life and reputation.
