Weather Report: Showers & Thunderstorms Expected this Evening

In the heart of the Indian Ocean, a warm and humid airstream envelops Mauritius, casting a blanket of moisture over the land. As the day unfolds, a few lingering clouds, remnants of an instability line, sway in the sky, influencing our weather patterns.
Forecast for the Next 24 Hours:
This afternoon do expect a sky that’s partly cloudy to overcast, with scattered showers primarily affecting the northern and western regions.
These showers could intensify at times, bringing moderate rainfall and the possibility of thunderous storms.
Temperatures will fluctuate, reaching a maximum of 25 to 27 degrees Celsius over the central plateau, while coastal areas will bask in slightly warmer conditions, with highs between 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
As evening descends, localised showers along with the risk of thunderstorms will continue, particularly in the west and south-west, before giving way to a mainly fair night.
As for the cooler night air, temperatures will drop to a minimum between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius in the high grounds, while coastal regions will see a mild range of 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.
The breeze will be from the East-North-East at a gentle 10 to 20 km/h, though it may pick up during showers.
Out at sea, conditions remain moderate beyond the reefs, with wave heights reaching approximately 1.5 meters—a strong reminder for caution.
A Word of Warning:
In the event of thunderstorms, the public is urged to seek safety. Stay away from open areas, avoid hiking and sea excursions, and refrain from sheltering under trees.
Your safety is paramount amid nature’s unpredictable moods.
