Corruption Battle: Lawyer Files Formal Complaint Against Top Police Officials

In a significant move against alleged corruption, lawyer Akil Bissessur, accompanied by his colleague Vimal Rajkoomar, lodged a formal complaint with the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on the 3rd March 2025.

The complaint targets former police commissioner Anil Kumar Dip, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dunraz Gungadin, and Superintendent of Police Ashik Jagai, alongside several other members of the so-called special task force.

The lawyer’s grave declaration not only listed names of individuals purportedly acting as “fronts” in the illicit money laundering scheme but also revealed details about the businesses thought to be implicated in these dubious activities.

The FCC has already initiated an investigation into this complex alleged corruption case. Bissessur expressed its confidence that the relevant authorities will take the necessary steps to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the proceedings.
