In a response to the pressing issue of mismatch between education and the job market, Dr. Kaviraj Sukon, the Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, unveiled plans for a National Advisory Committee aimed at revisiting and refining university curricula.

This announcement came during a pivotal workshop held this morning, Monday, 3 March, at the University of Mauritius in Réduit.

Dr. Sukon passionately urged industry leaders to extend their arms wider to students by providing more opportunities for internships and practical training.

He emphasised the vital importance of hands-on experience in better equipping graduates for the realities of the workplace.

His call to action resonates deeply, as the future of countless students hangs in the balance, a poignant reminder of the urgent need to bridge the gap between academic learning and the skills required in today’s dynamic economy.
