Tragedy at 1 AM: Police Officer Falls Victim to Violent Assault

In St. Croix: A police officer from the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) has tragically lost his life following a brutal assault. The incident occurred during the early hours of Monday, 3rd March, in Abercrombie.
While on duty, the officer ventured into a local shop in St. Croix around 1am to purchase refreshments.
It was there that he became embroiled in a confrontation, which escalated violently, leading to him being attacked with a knife.
Despite his injuries, he managed to return to his station before heading to Dr. AG Jeetoo Hospital for urgent care.
Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Central Investigation Division (CID) of Port North, led by Superintendent Sailesh Kumar Beeharry, has launched an investigation and has since apprehended a suspect in connection with this tragic event.
