Maneesh Gobin Faces FCC Probe Over Rs3.5 M Bribe Allegation

The former Attorney General, Maneesh Gobin finds himself at the centre of a storm as he is interrogated by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) concerning the Eco Deer Park affair.
The questioning took place on Friday, 28 February, as the investigation unfolds around troubling allegations of a Rs 3.5 million bribe linked to the lease of a sprawling 350-acre plot in Grand-Bassin, awarded to the Eco Deer Park Association.
Gobin arrived for his interrogation flanked by legal representatives Mes Avineshwur Dayal and Roshan Santokhee, signalling the seriousness of the inquiry.
As the FCC delves deeper into the murky waters of possible corruption, the repercussions of these allegations could resonate far beyond the confines of Eco Deer Park.
