Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius will temporarily close its doors due to the impending threat of Tropical Storm Garance, classified under a Class 3 cyclone warning. The final flight to depart before the closure will be Emirates flight EK704, scheduled to leave at 18:15. The airport is officially shut down at 19:10.

This announcement was made via a press communiqué issued on 26 February 2025 at 19:15, declaring all flights cancelled until further notice.

Recognising the inconvenience such disruptions can cause, Air Mauritius assured passengers that flights will be rescheduled as soon as it is safe to do so and when weather conditions improve.

For those wishing to adjust their travel plans, Air Mauritius will offer complimentary date changes for travel until 31 March 2025.

Further information is readily accessible on the website, airmauritius.com, where travellers can find updates on affected flights and manage their bookings remotely.

Passengers are urged to ensure that their mobile numbers are included in their bookings through partner travel agencies.
