Cyclone Alert Level 2: Polytechnics, Tertiary Institutions & Nurseries Remain Closed

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Research has announced the closure of all Polytechnics Mauritius teaching centres and higher education institutions this Tuesday, 25 February 2025. This decision comes in response to the Level 2 cyclone alert issued by the Vacoas weather station, underscoring the potential severity of the impending weather conditions.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare has declared that all nurseries will also remain closed on the same day, as a precautionary measure in light of the cyclone alert.

“The ministry expresses gratitude to the public for their understanding and urges everyone to take the necessary precautions in light of the expected weather conditions,” read a statement from the Ministry.

With safety as the priority, the community is encouraged to stay vigilant and prepared as these tumultuous weather events approach.
