Blaze at Maradiva Hotel, Rs 750,000 in Damages Amid Ongoing Scandal

A fire broke out on Saturday morning, 22nd February, in one of the villas at the Maradiva Hotel in Flic-en-Flac, causing extensive damage estimated at Rs 750,000.
According to police reports, while the interior of the villa remained untouched, the external electric panel suffered severe damage.
It was a maintenance officer from the hotel who first alerted the police to the incident.
It is worth noting that the Maradiva Hotel is owned by Sanjiv Ramdanee, who has previously been questioned by investigators from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) as part of an inquiry into allegations of money laundering linked to former Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth.
