Reservoirs Only 38.2% Full, A Cause for Concern

Despite recent rainfall in various regions, the water situation across the country remains dire. As of Friday, 21st February, the overall filling rate of our reservoirs stands at a mere 38.2%. This alarming statistic, published by the Water Resources Commission, paints a troubling picture.

Here are the current levels of our major reservoirs:

• Mare-Longue: 53%
• La Nicolière: 47.9%
• Mare aux Vacoas: 40.7%
• Piton du Milieu: 36.5%
• Midlands: 35.5%

With these figures, we must face the uncomfortable truth: our water resources are critically low.
