Deelawon’s Brother Summoned to FCC in Substantial Funds Investigation

Mr. Noël Deelawon, brother of Josian Laval Deelawon, presented himself at the offices of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Wednesday, 19th February. He was accompanied by his legal representative, Me Vimal Rajkoomar.

Information received indicates that Mr. Deelawon is being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering.

This inquiry has been launched by the FCC following the recent discovery of Rs 114 million concealed within four suitcases.

This significant sum was found in the possession of Josian Laval Deelawon and Chandradeo Oomah, both associated with the company My Holidays Ltd.

It is pertinent to note that the aforementioned discovery has led to the arrest of Mr. Josian Laval Deelawon and Mr. Chandradeo Oomah, as well as the former Prime Minister, Mr. Pravind Jugnauth, and Ms. Devianee Ramchurn, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Vacoas/Phoenix.”
