Laina Rawat, daughter of Dawood Rawat, former Chairman Emeritus of the British American Investment Group, has taken legal action against a former employee of the ex-Bramer Bank (now Maubank).

In a complaint to the Central CID on Wednesday, Rawat alleged that ten years ago, shortly after the 2014 legislative elections, confidential internal documents were published on Facebook.

She claimed these leaks constituted a violation of the Banking Act and contributed to the downfall of the financial institution. According to her, the disclosure of this information led many customers to withdraw their funds from the bank, worsening its financial situation.

Rawat identified a former employee as the alleged perpetrator and provided investigators with related documents in support of her case.

She also expressed concerns that other former employees may have been involved in leaking the sensitive information.
