The former senior chief executive at the Ministry of Health, Dalida Allagapen, has once again been summoned to face the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) in the midst of the high-profile Molnupiravir scandal surrounding the purchase of 999,000 tablets of Molnupiravir at a controversial cost of Rs 79,840,080, from CPN Distributors Ltd.

The reappearance of Allagapen, sister of former minister Alan Ganoo, at the FCC came as part of an ongoing investigation into the Ministry of Health’s acquisition of Molnupiravir, a crucial anti-viral medication, in 2021 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The inquiry is expected to delve into sensitive details surrounding the controversy-ridden purchasing of pharmaceuticals during a time of great national turmoil.

This is not the first time Dalida Allagapen has faced the FCC in connection with this case.

In 2022, she was already questioned and grilled over her involvement in the Ministry’s dealings.

Allagapen asserted her rights to early retirement days after the scandal erupted.

As the investigation continues to unfold, several suspects have already been arrested in connection with this high-profile case.
