Rs114 Million in Suitcases: Jugnauth's Brother-in-Law Apprehended at FCC

Tuesday, the 18th of February, proved a marathon day for Sanjiv Ramdanee, brother-in-law of former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa was brought in for questioning by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC).

A search was carried out at his shop in St-Jean, Quatre-Bornes, followed by a raid on his home in Flic-en-Flac.

Shortly after, Sanjiv Ramdanee was taken to the FCC premises to be questioned as part of the investigation into alleged money laundering involving the former Prime Minister.

This affair began on Saturday, the 15th of February, when a sum of Rs 114 million was discovered hidden in four suitcases.

These suitcases were in the possession of Josian Laval Deelawon and Chandradeo Oomah, from the company My Holidays Ltd.
