In a significant move, the Council of Ministers convened on Friday, 31 January, to approve the reshaping of several boards of directors, heralding a new era of leadership with the appointment of part-time chairpersons.

Among those stepping into these pivotal roles is Claire Le Lay-Commins, who will now lead the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) as its new chairperson.

Meanwhile, Ashok Prayag has been appointed to head the State Insurance Company of Mauritius (SICOM), bringing with him valuable expertise.

The spotlight also falls on Dr. Takesh Luckho, a distinguished economist, joining the State Trading Corporation (STC) as its part-time chairperson.

His insights are to prove invaluable in steering the corporation towards its goals.

In addition, Kumulsingh Purmah has been named to the Petroleum Pricing Committee (PPC), a role crucial to managing the nation’s energy strategies.

Lucien Laval Nicol Ombrasine will contribute his experience to the Mauritius Recreation Council, while Shaad Chellapermal joins the executive committee of the National Youth Council (NYC), advocating for the voices of the younger generation.

The revamp extends to the Mauritius Educational Development Company (MEDCO) Ltd, where Marie Joëlle Sandrine Valère-Bolli takes the helm as chairperson, poised to make an impact on educational development in the region.
