Air Seychelles has successfully wrapped up its seasonal service to Réunion, operating from December 30 to January 18. During this period, the airline transported nearly 500 passengers through eight flights, highlighting the significant demand for travel between the two islands.

The seasonal service featured two direct flights between Seychelles and Réunion, along with additional routes via Mauritius.

This initiative was designed to enhance accessibility and encourage tourism between the two destinations.

It was undertaken in collaboration with Tourism Seychelles as part of a broader strategy to strengthen regional travel connections.

The flights came about following the signing of a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) with Air Austral in June 2024, allowing Air Seychelles to fill the gap left after Air Austral suspended its services to Seychelles.

This agreement has enabled the airline to broaden its regional network and maintain vital connections between Seychelles and Réunion.

Charles Johnson, Air Seychelles’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed satisfaction with the airline’s inaugural commercial flights during the peak festive season.

He noted, “We are pleased to have operated our first round of commercial flights between Seychelles and Réunion during this busy time.

We look forward to providing more direct services during school holiday periods when demand typically increases.

Throughout the year, we maintain connectivity to Réunion on all three of our weekly flights via Mauritius.”

Johnson also emphasized the importance of collaborating closely with Tourism Seychelles to promote travel between the islands, encouraging visitors to discover the unique attractions each destination has to offer.

Air Seychelles thanked its passengers, Tourism Seychelles, and travel partners for their continued support, which contributed to the success of these operations.

Looking ahead, the airline is aiming to strengthen its relationship with Réunion and expand opportunities for travelers eager to explore the region.
