Fateemah Dilmohamed is currently undergoing rehabilitation in India and is expected to return to Mauritius in two weeks, according to her doctors. The 21-year-old woman was the victim of a serious accident in which she became trapped in a conveyor belt at Grand-Baie La Croisette, resulting in the amputation of her right leg at the scene.

As her left leg’s condition worsened, Mauritian authorities decided to send her to India for further treatment.

According to the Ministry of Health, “the young woman is recovering well from her injuries, and most of them have healed.”

Fateemah has already begun her rehabilitation process and is currently wearing a cast on her left foot to correct a deformity.

As for her amputated right leg, she is now fitted with a below-knee prosthetic leg.

Reports indicated that she has managed to get out of bed with the help of a walker and has begun to take her first steps.

The Ministry of Health is closely monitoring her progress, and it appears that she will be back in Mauritius in two weeks.

This tragic incident occurred last November, after which Fateemah was transferred to Chennai to continue her treatment.
