Former Minister Appointed as New CEO of AML & ATOL

In a circular issued on Wednesday, January 29th, it was announced that Mr. Lormus Bundhoo has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airports of Mauritius Co Ltd (AML) and Airport Terminal Operations Ltd (ATOL). His appointment took effect on Tuesday, January 28th.
Speaking to journalists, Mr. Bundhoo confirmed the news, expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam for entrusting him with the position.
“I would like to thank the Prime Minister for showing faith in me to hold the position of CEO of AML and ATOL,” he said.
The new CEO highlighted the significance of AML and ATOL, representing the warm welcome, hospitality, and values of the island nation, Mauritius.
“About 90% of those who visit Mauritius pass through our airport. Therefore, our responsibility is to ensure that tourists feel welcome as soon as they set foot on Mauritian soil.
Our aim is also to enhance the visibility of Mauritius as a high-end travel destination,” Mr. Bundhoo stated.
He emphasized his commitment to working closely with various stakeholders to bring about improvements.
For his part, Mr. Bundhoo has a long history of public service, having been elected as a member of parliament for the first time in 1995.
He has held various positions, including Chief Whip, Private Parliamentary Secretary (PPS), Junior Minister, Minister of Environment, and Minister of Health.
