Metro Express Welcomes 8 New Members to Board of Directors

Metro Express Limited (MEL) has officially appointed its new board of directors, with Pradeep Mahesh Kumar Soonarane taking on the role of Chairperson, succeeding Nayen Koomar Ballah.
On Saturday, January 18, Transport Minister Osman Mahomed convened with the newly formed board before their inaugural meeting, held in Ébène.
During the meeting, Minister Mahomed shared the government’s expectations for the board members, who are set to serve a three-year term.
“I met with the new members of the MEL board this Saturday morning, prior to their very first meeting.
I conveyed to them the government’s expectations as they commence their responsibilities,” Mahomed said.
The minister also mentioned that the board’s performance will undergo a review at the halfway mark of their term, approximately one and a half years into their service, and again at the end of the three-year period.
The newly appointed members of the Metro Express Limited board are as follows:
- Pradeep Mahesh Kumar Soonarane: Chairperson
- Eddy Jolicœur: Human Resources & Leadership Development Consultant
- Mohamed Nassir Ramtoola: Executive Director of Corfinance Ltd
- Allan Paul: Project Manager at Gibb Mauritius
- Priya Ramjeeawon-Varma: Assistant Solicitor General at the Attorney General’s Office
- Nishad Baig: Chairperson of the National Transport Corporation
- Hemnish Ram Urdhin: Lead Analyst at the Ministry of Finance
- Moheenee Nathoo: Senior Chief Executive at the Ministry of Land Transport
This new board aims to guide Metro Express Limited effectively during its upcoming projects and initiatives, reinforcing the company’s commitment to enhancing public transport services in the region.
