Attorney General Returns to London for Chagos Sovereignty Talks

On Wednesday, January 15, the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, took note of the latest developments regarding Mauritius’s sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago.

During the meeting, it was reported that Attorney General Gavin Glover, who recently traveled to London for discussions related to a treaty concerning Mauritius’s sovereignty over the Chagos Islands, has returned, January 15 evening, to the British capital to continue negotiations.

Upon his return, the Attorney General is expected to present a detailed report to the Cabinet outlining the status of the discussions.

The government has reiterated its commitment and determination to reach an agreement aimed at resolving this long-standing historical dispute.
